Thanksgiving is a time when many traditions are celebrated. It is also a time for reflection, giving thanks, and looking forward. At Blessed Sacrament we have much to be thankful for. I am thankful, humble and grateful to work with such an outstanding dedicated staff that works so hard in providing a quality Catholic education for all our students. We are grateful for all the family and friends in our lives who love and support us so our students may believe, achieve, and succeed. The Blessed Sacrament parish and school community, who give so freely their time, talent, and treasure for the good of our school, reminds me all year to be thankful.
There are certainly many challenges that lie ahead. But I am confident we will meet these opportunities and continue to grow stronger in spite of the any obstacles that may come our way. As we give thanks, let us not forget that the highest appreciation is not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them that make the biggest impact. Sometimes we forget to stop and be thankful for what we do have. It’s easy to get in the rut of complaining or asking for more. Instead, let’s ask the question – “What do we have to be thankful for?” or “Who do we have to be thankful for?”
For now let us simply focus on the many reasons why we are thankful. I know that whatever challenges we may be facing, when we focus on what we have instead of what we don't have, our hearts will recognize truly God's abundant graces in our lives and we will not help but be filled with gratitude and joy.
