Easter Message

Easter Message
This is the image for the news article titled Easter Message

For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Lent exists so that we can prepare ourselves for the Easter Triduum. Triduum comes from a Latin word meaning “three days.”

The three-day observance begins with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper in the evening of Holy Thursday, followed by Good Friday services, reaching its high point in the Easter Vigil and ends with evening prayers on Easter Sunday. The solemn liturgies of the Triduum are the most important liturgies of the Church year. These liturgies teach us the meaning of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.

We highly encourage you and your family to participate in the many liturgies we offer at Blessed Sacrament.  It is not a coincidence that school is closed on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.  As parents, we have a great opportunity – and God-given responsibility – to make sure our children understand the great truth and power of Easter, the foundation of our faith.

The significance of the Resurrection is that it did not end with the empty tomb. At Easter and always, we do not say “Christ was risen,” as though it happened long ago and that’s it. We say, “Christ is risen!” God’s saving grace continues for us today and every day.

Where will we look for Christ, risen and rising, who offers us His generous love, light for our journey and a sharing in His life?  How will we share that love and joy as an Easter people, transformed by the Resurrection, sent for us to transform our own lives and the lives we touch?

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Blessed Sacrament School, I extend our wish that your hearts may be filled with the hope, joy, and peace of the Resurrection this Easter season.
